New Skatepark In Torreguadiaro
A new skatepark has opened beside the ‘torre quebrada’ and car park for the Torreguadiaro
promenade, the new park features a
300-square-metre concrete skate area, which was once an unused grass verge before the park’s
construction
At the opening ceremony, the Mayor, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, shared that the council had invested €200,000 in this new recreational facility for young people. He expressed hope that the skatepark would attract visitors not just in the summer when Torreguadiaro sees a larger population, but throughout the year.
The skatepark's design was shaped
with input from skateboarders and inline skaters to ensure it met the needs of its users. At the
opening, the park was tested by Andalusian inline skating champion Gonzalo Romero Osorno, along
with members of the inline skating clubs from La Línea and Algeciras.
The Mayor described
the new leisure space as a "gift from the Three Kings to the Guadiaro Valley" and expressed his
hope that it would become a popular spot for skating enthusiasts, especially with its beautiful
beachside location. He also hoped that it would be widely used by young people and children, not
only from the local area but across the entire municipality.
