Sotogrande Featured In Amazon Prime Film
Culpa Tuya, released at the end
of December, the latest film on Amazon Prime Video has quickly become the platform’s star
attraction, surpassing even La que se avecina, one of Spain's most iconic series. For the Campo de
Gibraltar region, this film brings notable attention to two of its most picturesque areas:
Sotogrande and La Alcaidesa.
The film's directors, including Domingo González, chose these locations to film several key scenes. In Sotogrande, the plot unfolds with stunning shots of the marina, its restaurants, the golf club, and polo fields. Meanwhile, La Alcaidesa's pristine beaches also feature prominently in the film.
The production opened up casting
opportunities to local residents of the Campo de Gibraltar, and many were selected to participate
in the shoot, with full compensation.
The trilogy of which Culpa Tuya belongs, starts with
the story of Noah, a young woman who must leave her home, boyfriend, and friends to move into her
mother's new husband's mansion. There, she meets her new stepbrother Nick, and sparks fly as their
clashing personalities lead to a forbidden relationship. Despite the tumultuous nature of their
bond, their growing attraction and troubled pasts draw them closer, setting the stage for a
passionate, if complicated, romance.
Following the events of the first instalment, the
second film continues the tumultuous relationship between Noah and Nick, who remain inseparable
despite their parents’ efforts to keep them apart.
This film highlights the unique beauty
of Sotogrande and La Alcaidesa, further cementing the region's status as an enviable location for
both filming and real estate, offering stunning properties in one of Spain’s most sought-after
areas.
